About Octonion Technologies

Based in Edinburgh, Octonion Technologies was founded to bridge the gap between AI hype and AI reality for small and medium-sized businesses.

We saw too many SMEs either paralysed by choice, overwhelmed by AI possibilities with no way to evaluate them, or burned by failed projects that were driven by technology rather than business need.

Our approach is different. We use structured frameworks drawn from international standards (ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF) but adapted for businesses that don't have enterprise budgets or dedicated AI teams. The result: clear, actionable plans that your leadership team can actually approve and your team can actually deliver.

Hands-On, Not Just Advisory

We don't just talk about AI, we build with it. Through Octonion Software, our games and apps studio, we develop products like DungeonGPT (a dungeon crawler with AI-generated narratives) and RPG Loom, an incremental RPG with dynamic quest generation. This hands-on experience means we understand the practical realities of AI development, not just the theory.

We also build custom software for clients, whether it's a prototype, an AI-powered tool, or something more ambitious. For example, we recently built a real-time web application that captures ideas, scores opportunities, and generates visual outputs live during workshops.

We built it because we needed it, and because off-the-shelf tools weren't good enough.
